Jubell — Countdown & Timer (Android, iOS) Last updated: August 20, 2026 Version 1.1 Deutsche Fassung

In short

1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

David Telthörster
Theodor-Heuss-Str. 26
49328 Melle, Germany
E-mail: info@jubell.app

Jubell is an app published by a private individual. A data protection officer is not legally required.

2. Data on your device

Everything you create in Jubell stays on your device: timers (name, date, design, font), notes, checklists, your display mode, your widget assignments and the Jubell Pro status. This data lives in the app’s own storage, which other apps cannot access.

Jubell runs no server of its own and creates no user account. We do not collect usage statistics and use no analytics tools. Your content is never transmitted to us.

If your device performs a system backup (for example Google Backup or iCloud Backup), the app data may be part of that backup. The privacy policies of Google or Apple apply to those backups.

3. Permissions

Jubell only requests a permission when you use a feature that needs it. All processing happens locally.

PermissionUsed forWhat happens to the data
Read calendar“From the calendar” button: showing your upcoming events as templates for a timer.Events are only displayed; nothing is stored or transmitted. If you adopt an event, only its title and date are copied into the timer.
Write calendarToggle in a timer: adding the big day as an event to your calendar.Jubell creates exactly this one event and removes only it again when you switch the toggle off. Jubell never touches your other events.
Photos / media library“Your own photo” tile: choosing a picture from your gallery as a timer background. The chosen picture is copied into the app storage and displayed there. It is never uploaded.
NotificationsMilestone reminders (“10 days to go”).Scheduled locally on the device, without any push server. Can be muted per timer.

Jubell uses neither microphone nor camera nor location.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of Jubell shows one banner ad at the bottom of the timer list. The ads are served by Google AdMob, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).

Consent

If you are located in the European Economic Area, Switzerland or the United Kingdom, Jubell shows a consent form on first start (Google User Messaging Platform). There you decide whether Google may use data for personalized advertising. If you decline, you will see non-personalized ads or no ads. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); without consent no personalized ads are served.

You can change your decision at any time: via the privacy icon inside the ads, or by reinstalling the app.

What data Google processes

To serve ads, Google processes among other things your device’s advertising ID (Android Advertising ID / IDFA), IP address, approximate location derived from the IP address, device type, operating system, app identifier and ad interaction data. This data goes directly from the device to Google — Jubell itself neither receives nor stores it.

More information: Google’s privacy policy and How Google uses data from apps. Google may transfer data to the United States; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Turning ads off

With Jubell Pro (section 5) no banner is loaded any more and the ads module stops making requests to Google.

5. Jubell Pro (one-time purchase)

Jubell Pro is a one-time in-app purchase that removes advertising permanently. The purchase is handled entirely by the respective app store: Google Play (Google Ireland Limited) or the Apple App Store (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Hollyhill Industrial Estate, Cork, Ireland).

You enter payment details (credit card, PayPal, etc.) exclusively with Google or Apple. Jubell receives no payment data — only the information that the purchase belongs to your store account. This purchase confirmation is stored locally and verified with Google/Apple at app start, so that Pro is restored automatically after a reinstall or on a new device (“Restore purchase”).

The legal basis is performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The privacy policies of Google and Apple apply.

6. Sharing and widgets

Sharing: Via the share button you can pass on a timer as a short message. This opens your device’s share menu; only when you pick an app there (for example a messenger) does the message leave Jubell. What happens to it then is governed by the app you chose.

Widgets: Home screen widgets read the locally stored timers and display them. No transmission takes place.

7. Notifications

Milestone reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Jubell uses no push service; no device tokens are sent to any server. You can mute notifications per timer or disable them entirely for Jubell in the system settings.

8. Children

Jubell addresses a general audience and is not specifically directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Ads are limited to a content rating suitable for a general audience.

9. Retention and deletion

Your content stays on the device for as long as you keep it. You delete individual timers in the app with a long press. If you uninstall Jubell, all app data including notes, checklists and copied photos is removed from the device.

For data processed by Google (advertising, Google Play) or Apple (App Store), their retention periods and deletion options apply. You can reset or delete your device’s advertising ID in the system settings.

10. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). You may withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

Since Jubell does not store your content with us, these rights primarily concern the processing by Google and Apple. If you have questions, contact the address in section 1 — we are happy to help.

11. Changes

If app features or legal requirements change, we will adapt this policy. The current version is always available at this address; the date at the top shows when it was last updated.
